An economist by training, Ben is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of RWE’s 9GW of gas coal and oil-fired power stations in the UK.

He has spent much of his 20 years in the industry focussing on the impact of policy and regulation on the UK electricity market from both the generation and retail perspectives. This includes sitting on expert groups during the development of NETA through to lobbying on capacity mechanism design.

His experience includes modelling electricity and capacity markets, advising on commercial strategies for station operations, and lobbying for facilitating changes to the regulatory framework.
