Youth and Disability Employment in a Changing Labour Market

14:00-15:00
Postponed

Policy Connect is hosting an online seminar on the effects of technological change on the labour market, and how policymakers and youth and supported employment organisations can respond.

Youth employment and supported employment organisations are concerned about the effect of generative AI and other technological advancements on the youth labour market and NEET outcomes. Many of the people these organisations support begin their career paths in entry-level, low-paid work, and there is a fear that recent technological changes may lead to these roles disappearing or being made more burdensome and more challenging for their clients.

Policy Connect is hosting an online seminar to shed light on these concerns with academic and policy expertise, chaired by Peter Wilson. Speakers include:

  • Professor Tracy Shildrick, Professor of Inequalities at Newcastle University
  • Robert McLaren, Director of Policy at Policy Connect
