The inquiry acknowledges the diversity of higher education institutions which currently exist within the UK. In 2014-2015 the UK HE sector accommodated over two million students, who attended nearly 800 institutions, broadly categorised into three types of institution: universities, further education colleges, and alternative providers, (UUK, 2015).
The Higher Education Commission is very pleased to announce that Professor Joy Carter will be co-chairing our fifth inquiry, on the diversity of higher education provision.
Professor Joy Carter is Vice-Chancellor of The University of Winchester. She is an academic with research based in Geochemistry and Health and was a former President of the international society in her field.
The University of Leicester has announced that, like some other universities around the UK, it will be offering students the opportunity to 'touch in' for their lecture attendance.
