Policy Strategies for Food Waste Reduction

14:00

Food waste is a pressing issue globally, with significant environmental, economic, and social implications. In the UK, despite efforts to address this challenge, food waste remains a significant problem.

In the context of emerging policy reforms for separate food waste collections and business food waste reporting, Policy Connect, on behalf of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Sustainable Resource, is pleased to convene this discussion to explore what the key challenges are for tackling food waste in the UK and discuss opportunities to improve the policy environment in support of this.

We are delighted to be joined by Kerry McCarthy MP as the event chair.

This event will bring together stakeholders from government, local authorities, industry, and food waste initiatives to share insights, experiences, and strategies for tackling this issue effectively and informing policy needs for the UK.

We look forward to welcoming our speakers:

  • Anthony Buchan - Head of Programme - LA Support, ReLondon
  • Claire Shrewsbury - Director of Insights & Innovation, WRAP
  • Councillor Darren Rodwell -  Barking and Dagenham Council, representing the Local Government Association
