Former Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

Dame Caroline has been the Member of Parliament for Meriden since 1997. She is a former Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (2010-2012), and has been actively involved with the APSRG for a number of years. She was the inquiry chair of three major reports produced by the group: in 2013, Exporting opportunity: putting waste to work in a global economy and Remanufacturing: towards a resource efficient economy, and in 2014, Triple Win: The Social, Economic and Environmental case for Remanufacturing. She has also chaired events discussing business resource efficiency and end-of-life waste (2014) and policy priorities for the current parliament in relation to the circular economy (2015). Dame Caroline’s other interests include agricultural policy, international development, local government and human trafficking.
