Report Launch - Skills in the Age of AI
Policy Connect are hosting a parliamentary event to launch the report, ‘Skills in the Age of AI’. This event will present the findings of an inquiry into the limitations of current AI policy frameworks and explore how to design policies that advance AI readiness while ensuring equitable participation across diverse social groups.
Through research and public consultation, Skills in the Age of AI sets out a vision for reform that is holistic and wide-ranging, covering three key themes: the importance of education and public communication; digital skills for the workforce; and regulatory safeguards for a confident society.
The launch will feature the unveiling of recommendations related to these topics and serve as a platform for dialogue and collaboration, calling for the Government to act in enabling citizens to connect and utilise technological innovations to enhance their lives.
The inquiry has been co-chaired by Lord Tim Clement-Jones and Lord Chris Holmes and will feature contributions from:
- Lauren Edwards MP, Chair of the APPG for Skills, Careers & Employment.
- Emily Darlington MP, Member of the Science, Innovation & Technology Committee.
- Alyson Hwang, Research and Strategy Manager, Policy Connect.

- Hugh Milward, VP of External Affairs, Microsoft UK.
- Penny Jones, Responsible AI Lead, Zurich Insurance.
