FETL Summer Symposium
FETL Summer Symposium
We are delighted to partner with the Further Education Trust for Leadership (FETL) to invite you to join us in Parliament to discuss the future of FE.
The impact of technology on the further education (FE) sector has been a recurring theme in all FETL research publications, with contributions from Sir Michael Barber, Bob Harrison, and Paul McKean discussing the implications of AI and digital skills gaps in the sector directly.
This next FETL Symposium will focus on the emerging role of technology in FE and its potential to transform every aspect of teaching, learning and the education environment.
In line with the Government’s EdTech Strategy, this event will explore the impact of technology on teaching and highlight some of the latest innovations that are being employed in the classroom and workshop to enhance learning. Specifically, the event will involve learners and a live demonstration of how virtual and mixed reality can provide a more hands-on educational experience.
The symposium discussion will address the challenges, efficacy and ethics of moving towards a more technology centred FE sector. Our chair and confirmed speakers include:
Lord Holmes, Chair of the EdTech Leadership Group and the APPG for Assistive Technology
Deborah Millar, Group Director of Digital Learning Technology, Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education
Paul McKean, Head of Further Education and Skills, Jisc
Dick Palmer, former Chief Executive TEN Group and adviser on FELTAG
Maren Deepwell, Chief Executive, Association for Learning Technology (ALT)
