“The UK Government remains legally bound to reduce emissions by 80% against 1990 levels, and to do that they will need to implement effective policy and action. The EU referendum result is not an excuse to allow commitments on decarbonisation and renewables to be reneged on, no matter how much change and upheaval has taken place over the past few weeks. We need carbon capture and storage, energy storage, transport and heat decarbonisation to be top priorities – as highlighted by the Committee on Climate Change."
