Report Launch: 'Principles for a Sustainable Brexit'

Report Launch: 'Principles for a Sustainable Brexit'

12th July 2017

We are delighted to invite you to the final installment of Policy Connect's 'The Brexit Series: A Sustainable Future for Britain' - a collection of Parliamentary events organised to examine the impacts Brexit will have on the environment, energy and climate change, resources and built environment sector. This report launch is the culmination of The Brexit Series.

Our report 'Principles for a Sustainable Brexit' builds on the evidence collected throughout the course of the Brexit Series. With a range of expert speakers and attendees, these Parliamentary events have aimed to inform the policy gap which the Government, UK industry and third sector have been exposed to following the result of the EU referendum.

Our cross-party and cross-sectoral report argues that that for a prosperous future for Britain post-Brexit, policies must:

  • ensure that the UK’s environmental commitments are upheld

  • encourage economic growth through sustainable investments and innovation

  • embed research and data

  • be transparent and accountable, and

  • embed long-term thinking and strategy.

This event will formally launch our report, providing a cross-party forum for leading Parliamentarians and sustainability leaders to share their thoughts on the next steps that the new Parliament and new Government should take in order to deliver a truly sustainable Brexit.
