How Policy Connect has been informing parliamentarians during COVID-19

30th April 2020

In partnership with the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Health, Policy Connect has been running a series of webinars discussing a number of topics relating to COVID-19, featuring commentary from prominent figures within the health industry. These have been offered exclusively to MPs and Peers, and our members, offering cutting-edge insight into how the crisis is being handled by experts and those on the front line.

The sessions so far have been:

  • Wednesday 8th April – NHS preparedness for coping with COVID-19 - Lord Philip Hunt & Niall Dickson - Chief Executive NHS Confederation
  • Thursday 16th April – Care homes, carers and COVID-19 - Dr Lisa Cameron MP, Chris Hopson – Chief Executive of NHS Providers and Professor Martin Green – Chief Executive of Care England
  • Wednesday 22nd April – Vaccines – Karin Smyth MP, Professor Eleanor Riley – Edinburgh University and Dr Sarah Buchan - Bournemouth University
  • Tuesday 28th April – Mental Health – Lord Philip Hunt, Sir Norman Lamb – CEO of South East and Maudsley Trust and Paul Farmer, CEO of Mind

The webinars have also given attendees the opportunity to put their own questions the speakers.

The next session will be on Patient Voices with Dr Charlotte August of National Voices and Professor Tim Spector, part of the team behind the COVID-19 app.
