The APDIG holds a busy programme of parliamentary seminars, receptions and conferences with relevant Ministers, Government officials and other high-profile speakers from the design sector and beyond. These focus on topical policy and industry issues and provide opportunities for engagement and input from members. We also organise smaller round-table discussions and events in partnership with Government departments, parliamentary groups and other organisations on specific issues.

Design and Craft for Export

Craft is a major contributor across a multitude of economic sectors. As well as providing employment and income across thousands of businesses, craft skills feed into the wider creative economy and other key economic sectors, ranging from manufacturing to medicine. In 2016, craft, together with music, contributed over a third of the value of Creative Industries goods exports from the UK.
