Sustainable Schools: Design and development for new build and retrofit

31 March 2011, 14.00 – 17.00

This event provided an opportunity  for participants to discuss the future of school building and refurbishment. It explored the opportunities for delivering modern, sustainable learning environments that both raise educational attainment and offer the public value for money post-BSF.

The event looked at the role of academies and free schools in taking school construction and development forward and also examined the case for standardisation and retrofitting as methods for delivering affordable and improved education facilities.
