Parliamentary Conference: Safety, Skills and the Green Deal
4 July 2012, 12.00pm – 2.30pm
Ahead of the Domestic Green Deal’s launch in October 2012, this event allowed Green Deal providers, assessors, installers, customers and other stakeholders to hear how the Green Deal model will encompass the best safety standards possible. This joint conference, between the Westminster Sustainable Business Forum and the All Party Parliamentary Gas Safety Group, also provided a chance for the chosen Green Deal Oversight Body (Gemserv) to be introduced to parliamentarians and industry representatives. The event convened a wide range of policy makers, industry and business representatives (primarily from the gas and electricity sectors) to examine and highlight the design of the Green Deal in regards to safety.
Chair:
Barry Sheerman MP – Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Gas Safety Group
Speakers:
Greg Barker MP – Minister for Energy and Climate Change
Luciana Berger MP – Shadow Minister for Climate Change
David Thorne – Chief Executive, Gemserv
Ann Robinson – The Ascertiva Group
