Green Sky Thinking Week 2013 launches

9th April 2013
Open-City’s Green Sky Thinking Week launched on 9 April, with a discussion about the way forward for embedding sustainability in the built environment. Green Sky Thinking Week launched on Tuesday 9th April with a keynote speech by Richard Blakeway, Deputy Mayor for Housing, Land and Property and a debate involving private and public sector professionals arguing the case for more concerted action from both the property industry and government on how to future-proof London’s built environment. The Deputy Mayor outlined two initiatives in particular, a major retrofitting programme for schools and a pilot on energy use data transparency modelled on New York's experience with the Deputy Mayor concluding by saying that “there is clearly real potential to grow London's low carbon economy along with the jobs that that provides and the productivity that it creates.” Open-City’s Green Sky Thinking Week starts on Monday 15 April 2013.
