2011 - 2015 Effective investment in the early years
28 June 2011, 9.30am – 11.30am
Last month, the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills announced the creation of the world’s first national bank dedicated to the green economy. This round table discussion looked at some of the key features of this new institution, including the proposed governance arrangements and the Government’s plan for encouraging investment in large-scale, tried and tested technologies, during the Bank’s early years from 2011-15.
It also provided an opportunity to examine what role the bank should play before it gains borrowing powers in 2015. The Environmental Audit Committee’s recommendations from the recent Green Investment Bank Inquiry were also discussed, in light of the more recent Government announcements.

Nicky Morgan MP
