VQ Day celebrated

VQ Day took place at the Royal Horticultural Halls, Westminster, celebrated the achievements of the millions of people who study for a vocational qualification every year.

Events also took place in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and at schools and colleges across the UK. In London, speeches were made by the TV presenter, Arlene Philips, Lord Baker, Chair of Edge, the education foundation, and John Hayes, Minister of State for Skills.

Over the last year there has been an 11% rise in the number of vocational qualifications achieved, not totaling 4 million.
