European Commission: “An Agenda for new skills and jobs”

The European Commission has published a set of proposals for strengthening the EU labour market. The report, published last Tuesday, includes a commitment to finding ways to ensure that there are enough people with the right education and skills to fill the new generation of jobs that will be created in the coming years. The proposals are part of the 'Europe 2020' strategy which aims to increase the proportion of working-age citizens in employment from 69% to 75% by 2020.
