BIS launches FE consultation documents
The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has launched two consultation documents on the future of further education.
Skills for Sustainable Growth and A Simplified Further Education and Skills Funding System and Methodology invite views on: how to maximise private investment in skills; how support staff can be improved; how business can be encouraged to invest in community learning; and how to hold colleges and training providers to account in responding to demands of the labour market.
The repsonses will inform the strategy for the skills white paper to be published in the autumn, after the Comprehensive Spending Review.
Deadline for consultation responses is 14th October 2010.
Response forms are accessible here.
