Graham Spittle was appointed Chief Technology Officer of IBM in 2010 and is a member of the Prime Minister’s Council for Science and Technology.

Prior to his current role, he held several senior executive positions at IBM including President, Software UKI (UK and Ireland); Vice President, Integration Development, and Director of the IBM Hursley Laboratory. 

From 2004 to 2011 he served as the first chair of the Technology Strategy Board, which became the executive non-departmental public body with responsibility for delivering government technology and knowledge transfer programmes.

He is a Visiting Professor at Edinburgh, Southampton and Bristol Universities.
