Today sees the launch of 'Closing the Gender Skills Gap', a major report by the National Skills Forum, part of Policy Connect Skills.

The UK is missing out on a huge pool of talent with many women working below their skill level in low-paid, low-skilled occupations.

The report contains 27 key recommendations aimed at tackling the barriers facing many women who want to train, get back to work and improve their skills.

The report is especially timely given the the global financial crisis. Increasing the range and level of women’s skills could help the combat the UK skills deficit, improve productivity and start to reduce the pay and opportunity gap between men and women.

Please click on the link on the right hand side of this page to download the report.

Further information on the launch is available from skills@policyconnect.org.uk
