June 2009
Carbon Connect's launch event in June 2009 was held at the Atrium, Westminster, and attended by a wide range of senior parliamentary and industry representatives. Ed Miliband MP, then Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change gave a keynote address, providing his support for the valuable role Carbon Connect can play in supporting government engagement with industry in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
"I believe Carbon Connect can play a central role in bridging the gap between business and government in the building of a low-carbon economy in the UK. I welcome your inquiry into the barriers to the commercialisation of low-carbon technologies and I look forward to its policy recommendations."
