Last week saw a flurry of activity on the topic of microplastics.
One Green Planet reported that 'Microplastics in the Ocean Now Outnumber Stars in Our Galaxy'. The recently launched Clean Seas campaign reported there may be as many 51 trillion microplastics in our ocean. This campaign urges everyone to eliminate the use of microplastics. So far, 10 countries have joined. Although microplastics appear to be the main topic this week, Greenpeace have also stated their concern on microfibres polluting the oceans. The topic of microplastics was a major part of discussion in written questions in Parliament last week.
