National Policy Statements Laid Before Parliament

 The National Policy Statement for Renewable Energy Infrastructure was laid before parliament by energy secretary, Rt Hon Chris Huhne MP. The document outlines the government's strategy regarding renewable energy and the policy framework against which planning decisions for major renewable energy infrastructure developments shall be considered. The laying of the document comes after a consultation period and is presented to the Houses of Parliament in final draft form to be debated by both Houses.
