Environmental regulations under red-tape challenge
Businesses invited to reform regulations
5 September 2011
287 environmental regulations cover issues including waste, emissions and wildlife protection, all of which shall be evaluated over the next three weeks under the Government's Red Tape Challenge initative. The government has recently invited businesses to suggest ways in which the burdens of regulations could be lifted from the private sector, while ensuring responsibilities for protection the environment remain entact. Simplfications of regulations and non-regulatory moves will be considered, including the removal of regulations to make environmental regulation more efficient and effective.
