Eric Illsley MPEco-design is rapidly becoming recognised as a key component in encouraging wider environmental sustainability, making a positive impact on carbon output and enabling greater resource efficiency, as well as making sound economic sense.
This parliamentary seminar, organised in partnership with the Associate Parliamentary Design & Innovation Group and WRAP, critically explored the nature and purpose of 'sustainable design'. A detailed debate followed, focused on the need to overcome 'silos' in departmental strategy at Government level to allow system-wide apporaches for utilizing design to promote resource efficiency.
