    Event summary 'After the Hack: How safe is Britain's data?'

    The APGDA event ‘After the Parliament Hack: How safe is Britain’s data?’ set out to address a number of important issues and questions regarding cyber security, foremost among those was of course the question featuring in the event title. The event focused on addressing the following inter-related issues:

    ·         Liability for data theft: current vs. desirable rules

    ·         How to improve security of public service digital infrastructure

    ·         Product regulatory approaches

    ·         Economic incentives for software developers to take cyber security seriously

    Welcome to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Data Analytics

    The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Data Analytics is a new cross-party group established to connect Parliament with business, academia and civil society to promote better policy making on big data and data analytics. 

    There are three pillars to the group. First, what can be done to help UK business prosper, aid investment decisions and define the boundaries of competition. Second, to inform and empower the public on the collection and use of personal data, so they are willing participants in the new age. Third, to develop a world class education division to deliver a skills base to give the UK a leading role in the worldwide use and exploitation of data.
