Festival Republic backs APPCOG's new Safety at Festivals Campaign 2017

Melvin Benn, founder of Festival Republic, who produce festivals including Download, V Festival, Wireless, Latitude, Reading and Leeds has shown his support for APPCOG's CO Safety at Festivals campaign.

On Tuesday 6 June, ahead of the opening of Download Festival at Donnington Park, Sara Abuzaid, Energy Safety Manager at Policy Connect and Louise Young, Marketing and Communications Manager at Policy Connect met Melvin Benn, Founder of Festival Republic and Noel Painting, Health and Safety Events Organiser at Festival Republic, to discuss the forthcoming launch of the campaign.

Melvin Benn said “Festivals Republic is pleased to be supporting the All-Party Parliamentary Carbon Monoxide Group in its campaign to highlight the serious effects of carbon monoxide from BBQs at festivals like ours. While we take as many precautions as we can, many of our festivals have to contend with the great British weather, especially when the heavens open, and our festival goers may well bring their BBQs inside of their tents to keep warm or carry on with their barbequing. We are looking forward to seeing this danger recognised more widely, especially in Parliament.”
