World Vegan Month

World Vegan Month

3rd November 2017

According to reports by the UN Food and Agriculture Association, animal agriculture is "one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global" and a shift towards a vegan diet can play a large role in the fight against climate change.

In recognition of the importance of dietary changes to climate mitigation, earlier this year our chair - Caroline Lucas MP - participated in a seven-day vegan challenge as part of the Vegan Society's "Plate Up for the Planet" campaign. Campaigners are now launching a 30-day vegan pledge, and have been in touch with the APPCCG to promote this. If you would like to find out more about this campaign, please read the letter PETA sent to Caroline and get in touch with them directly to find out how you can join the pledge.
