A Climactic Decision EU Debate Summary

1st June 2016
In the run up to the EU referendum on 23rd June, the APPCCG was pleased last week to host a debate on the motion ‘Staying in the EU is the best way to protect the UK’s climate and environment’. The event was chaired by the BBC's Mark Mardell and brought together senior politicians and experts from both sides to debate how leaving the EU could affect the UK’s climate and environment. Our speakers were: Mary Creagh MP – Chair of the Environmental Audit Committee and former Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Roger Helmer MEP – UKIP Energy Spokesman and Member of European Parliament Industry, Research and Energy Committee. Prof Michael Grubb - Professor of International Energy and Climate Change Policy at UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources. Dr Lee Upcraft - Scientists for Britain. We would like to thank everyone who attended the debate for helping to make it such a lively and stimulating discussion. A full summary of the event is now avaliable to download.
