Scottish Borders textiles, from cashmere to tweed, are famous across the world and the iconic cashmere sweater is the perfect symbol of the high quality, timeless garments made in my constituency. Our local companies combine state of the art manufacturing techniques and modern designs with the classic colours and fabrics which first made the products popular. Knitwear has been manufactured in the Borders for hundreds of years and I am proud that our local textiles businesses continue to produce some of the best cashmere and tweed products in the world.
