I feel that this small, family-run business is a good example of high-quality craftmanship and innovation and would both benefit from and greatly deserve the recognition with which the 'Made By Britain' scheme could provide

The company was founded in the middle of the 18th century by Mr Adams along with his twin sons in Scotswood, England. The distinctive name came from the phonetic spelling of their family name, as they were unable to use an apostrophe to register a company name. Mr Larry Dunlop later bought the company, maintaining it as a family business, but locating it in Dundonald in the Belfast East constituency and, in doing so, creating an entirely new era of manufacturing for the region. Since then, Adamsez have been totally committed to job creation and feed back into the Northern Ireland economy.

The company currently designs and manufactures Britain's finest collection of baths and shower enclosures. They are the only company in the whole of the UK that manufacture freestanding baths which makes them totally unique. They are also the UK's oldest bathroom company. The baths are hand produced by skilled craftsmen and are acclaimed throughout Europe and customers include Mary Portas, Chris Rea, Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas amongst others.

As with all manufacturing and particularly in those areas allied to construction, the current economic climate has been challenging for the company; however, by focusing on the quality of the product and on innovation, they have managed to sustain the business through tough times and currently employ 22 people.

More information about the baths can be found at www.adamsez.com.
