APDIG and DBA write to Chancellor on importance of R&D Tax Credits to design sector

20th November 2017

The Co-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Design and Innovation Group, Barry Sheerman MP, and Deborah Dawton, CEO of the Design Business Association, have written to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, ahead of the Autumn Budget to call for expansion and reform of the R&D Tax Credit system to allow Britain's world-leading design agencies to prosper.

The letter sets out the economic case for the expansion of the present system of tax creits to give the UK's £70 billion design sector with the support necessary to encourage its long-term, sustainable growth across the whole economy.

The letter comes following the publication of the Government's industrial strategy white paper, as well as continued investment in the design and innovation sector.
