Adam Afriyie MP addresses award-winners and guests at the Hurlingham Club
The Design Business Association, the industry’s champion for commercially effective design, held its annual Design Effectiveness Awards dinner at the Hurlingham Club in Fulham on the 4th of November.
The Design Effectiveness Awards celebrate and promote the role effective design plays in the creation of business growth and are the only awards to use commercial data to reward the commercial impact of great design.
The keynote address was given by Adam Afriyie MP, Shadow Minister for Innovation, Universities and Skills.
In the Foreword to the event’s programme, Barbara Follett MP, Minister for Culture, Creative Induxtries and Tourism Minister said that:
'In business, good design can often mean the difference between success and failure. That is why these Design Effectiveness Awards - which demonstrate and celebrate the value of investment by business in good design – are so important.'
'Everyone involved in these Awards deserves a big vote of thanks for their faith in, and their funding of, the best of Britain’s creative talent. This support is even more vital as we all face up to the increasingly challenging economic environment. The Government is doing all it can to ensure that all Britain’s businesses get through this difficult period. Our creative industries play a key role in the success of the country’s economy and I am determined to ensure that we retain our world leadership in this field.'
